Whip out a cute printed bandeau and jumper

It's still summer, and Cecile is living proof. Just when we think the last days are upon us, we take a cue from Cecile and are inspired to whip out a cute printed bandeau and jumper, some rockin' shades, and make the most of the sunshine we've got left.
Before you think her lace-up boots are a mismatch, consider the fact that while everyone got grimy in sandals, Cecile's piggies stayed protected and pretty in an unexpected way.

Dahlia dabbles in a little street-style photography

We get the feeling that Dahlia dabbles in a little street-style photography of her own.
If it wasn't for the telltale camera around her neck, we'd suspect that she knows her way around an outfit, anyway.
She's sporting some serious color, and keeping her outfit comfy without sacrificing one bit of style. She's paid attention to details from accessories, great vintage shoes, and a gimme-that hairstyle.
She's a pro.

Pregnancy Style Secrets for most ladies

Dressing well should never be one of  most  ladies. We are so not a tribe of ladies who will settle for a tent-dress and elastic-waist jeans when pregnancy takes over.

Why then do maternity lines and labels continue to make these two sad little pieces the centerpiece of their mom-to-be offerings?
No pregnant women should ever have to surrender her stylish ways as her waistline expands and these four women are evidence!
Read on to see how a few fashion-forward pregnant women got creative with their outfits to not only celebrate their growing bumps but their allegiance to looking amazing, before, during, and after baby.

Show School Pride With New Collegiate Collection

It's obvious that the folks at Brooks Brothers know a thing or two about smart styling, afterall, this all-American brand has been making some of the sharpest shirts, sweaters, and suits for decades.
Well, now this NYC-based institution has taken some of their most iconic pieces—crewneck sweaters, non-iron dress shirts, polos, and woven ties and customized them to fit the color schemes and insignias of several prominent universities, turning smart styling into, well, smart styling (get it?).
So far, the schools included in the Collegiate Collection are mostly either Ivy Leagues, military academies, or major football schools (surprise, surprise), so those of us from universities where Quidditch was the biggest sport (go Middlebury!) will hopefully see our B.B. debut sometime in the future.

Introducing fall's trickiest trend: the sheer blouse

Introducing fall's trickiest trend: the sheer blouse. Going sheer is kind of a leap of faith, but there are a few tricks to get you wearin' them without compromising your modesty. Check out five ways to get comfy with sheer blouses, and start your fall wardrobe off on a sexy note.

Think Thick Sheer doesn't have to mean flimsy. A substantial silk can still hint at the skin below, but is opaque enough to wear to the office under a chic blazer paired with a skinny pant or leggings.

Looking Sharp With all the details of a super-conservative shirt, a sheer blouse can actually seem even more business-y when you button it all the way up. Pair it over a tube-dress or under a blazer for coverage

Trim Down—Shirts that are trimmed with opaque fabrics beg for a coordinating camisole to be worn underneath. And this ADAM shirt comes with one!

Pattern Play—Confuse 'em with a wild pattern that acts as camouflage in case you wear just a tank or a bra underneath.

Pocket Protector—Opaque pockets let you get away with most sheer styles without fearing any slip-ups. Just make sure you're shimmying with caution!

Makeup Tips For Girls Who Wear Glasses

A great pair of specs can be an awesome accessory we'll take being called four-eyes any day. But as much as we love their ability to amp up a look, adding some frames to our face sometimes puts a snag in our makeup game. The dilemma? Overdo it and you could end up looking like a sexy librarian gone terribly wrong. Play it too safe and your features disappear. So, to help sharpen up your spec-style, we went straight to renown makeup artist, Bobbi Brown (a glasses-wearer herself), and got her to reveal some fantastically doable tips on how-to don some killer specs and still stay easy on the eyes. Her number one? Eyeliner is essential! Read on for six more of Brown's tips

Stay In Neutral Territory: According to Brown, less is definitely more. "Wearing glasses draws plenty of attention to your eyes, so it’s best to keep your eye makeup simple. Stick to neutral shades on the eyes but remember to blend a darker color into your crease for added definition. Save the bright, bold colors for your lips. Of course, don’t forget corrector and concealer—a must for all women, but especially if you’re wearing glasses."

Don’t Be Afraid of Mascara: "Most of the time I suggest applying 2-3 coats of mascara to really make eyes stand out. Always use black mascara, it makes the biggest difference. (Unless as per the below your prescription makes your eyes look bigger)."

Get In Line: "Adjusting the thickness of your liner is important when you’re wearing glasses," says Brown. "If your frames are thicker, you’ll want to apply a thicker line to the upper lash line so that eyes stand out. If your frames are thinner, a softer liner works."

Take Your Glasses Look From Day To Night: "There are several ways," she says. "First, you can add bold colors to your cheeks and lips. A bright or dark lip color can instantly transform you into ‘party ready’ and a bright shade of pink blush on your cheek will instantly give your face a lift and flush of color. Or, you can add sparkle to your eyes. Use a lighter shimmer or sparkly color on your lower lid. To create a smoky eye for glasses, double line your eye. It instantly makes your eyes stand out without being too much. Just line your eye with a gel or pencil, then take a similar colored powdered eye shadow and using a liner brush, line above the previous line, smudging as you go."

Define Your Brows: "Brows make a huge difference when you wear glasses— the frames draw attention to them. Learning how to shape and color your brows can change the entire frame of your face.

Pay Attention To Your Prescription: "If your prescription makes your eyes look smaller, be sure to line your eyes all the way around. I recommend using a liner that is darker than your natural eye color, since it creates a perfect contrast that defines the eyes. Finish with two to three coats of black mascara on the top lashes only for a refreshed look. If your prescription makes your eyes look bigger, use a light hand when applying your eye makeup and be sure to blend everything carefully. The last thing you want your glasses to do is magnify any mistakes. For shadows, go with light, neutral shades like my Gold Nugget Sparkle eyeshadow. Your eyeliner should be delicate and thin, with only one coat of mascara to open up the eyes."

Prada’s Peaches ‘N' Cream - Makeup trends

The flip-side to all this color is a fresh and dewy mix of more natural, neutral shades that are wearable, modern, and appropriate for all skin tones. This season, there was a resurgence in softer apricot tones, paired with taupes and muted browns for a perfect fall finish that Prada pulled off flawlessly.

How To Pull It Off: The eyes have it with to-the-brow shadow and defined brows—your brows are hugely important in recreating this look as they frame your face and offset that high-flying apricot blush. Touches of color on the lips and cheeks add definition, rather than stealing the show.

Start by filling in your eyebrows with a brow pencil before grabbing your concealer, foundation, and powder, and doing your thing. You’ll also need an apricot-colored blush, soft-brown eyeshadow, and very soft taupey-pink lipstick for later.

Once you’ve set your base and filled in your brows, apply your blush by really working the brush into the area underneath your cheekbones to create definition and contouring. Don’t be afraid to take it high up your cheeks and out toward your hairline. Next, apply white eyeliner to your lower lash-line and gently sweep your eyeshadow across your eyelids, dusting all the way to the brow. Finish with mascara and lipstick

Tom Ford’s Color-Blocking Bonanza - Makeup Trends

Who says color-blocking need only be reserved for your wardrobe? Not us. Or Tom Ford, apparently. Seen here on the almost unrecognizable Candice Swanepoel, this look shimmies us back to the dazzling days of Studio 54 (minus the crazy hair and sequins). Sure, there’s a lot going on, but working bright lips with contoured cheeks, or dark eyes with bright lips, is most definitely doable.

How To Pull It Off: First, decide whether you want to go all-out on the eyes and lips, or lips and cheeks. All three at once will walk you straight into '80s territory (oops, wrong way, go back!).

Once you’ve decided on your look, work with shades that are in the same family, keeping your lipstick and blush in tones that complement, rather than compete. Or, for a bold eye like this, stick to the same rules and think along the lines of blue-based reds on the lips with blue-based shadows on the eyes. Start by prepping your skin with your foundation, concealer, and translucent powder for that matte yet completely flawless finish. Now, apply your blush using a large powder brush, starting in the hollows of your cheeks and running the brush in the space underneath your cheekbones. Contouring is key here. Oh, and blend like your life depends on it.

If you’ve decided to opt for eyeshadow instead, work the shadow around the entire eye, keeping the lines perfectly blended and even. For a more intense look, add black eyeliner to your upper and lower lash-line; and finish off with your favorite black mascara. Don't forget to add a pop of silver in the inner corner of the eyes to help keep things bright. To complete the look, grab a blue-based red lipstick in a high-shine formula and apply to your lips with a lipstick brush. Add a clear high-shine gloss over the top for added punch. Smile, you look amazing!

Pregnancy fashion woman Models

Flowery smocks and unflattering dungarees have, thankfully, been relegated to the back of the closet and now pregnancy fashion can be just as style-savvy as anything on the catwalks.
Gone are the days when a pregnant woman was meant to hide her burgeoning bump.

Even before maternity became big fashion business, supermodels, such as Cindy Crawford, Yasmin Le Bon, Helena Christensen, Carolyn Murphy, Eva Herzigova and Karolina Kurkova, paved the way for expectant mothers to confidently show off their bellies along with their sartorial show pieces.
If anyone can work Marchesa for motherhood, it's these style queens.

Today, the likes of Miranda Kerr, Natalia Vodianova, Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss are still showing the rest of us how fashion and fertility can be the perfect match.

Kate Moss Wedding stylish performances

Kate Moss and fiancé Jamie Hince were in the Cotswolds last night for a rehearsal dinner ahead of their wedding.

The wedding celebrations stretched into Friday night, with performances from Shirley Bassey, Snoop Dogg, Iggy Pop, Bryan Ferry and Beth Ditto. The next day, guests including Sadie Frost, Jude Law, Jefferson Hack and Meg Matthews returned to The Swan pub for a post-wedding lunch. Yesterday, the Kate donned a white Stella McCartney trouser suit to board a helicopter with her new husband for their honeymoon

Alison Mosshart, Hince's bandmate and "best woman" joined Kate's friend and hairdresser James Brown and Sadie Frost and daughter Iris, along with other close friends and family members, for dinner at The Swan pub in Southrop after a church rehearsal. Moss wore a trademark vintage dress with high-heeled boots, which Hince obligingly echoed with a denim blue jacket.

Proenza Schouler - "This dress was an unanimous favourite, incorporating a wonderfully wearable shape with two of the most exciting trends of the season: an unconventional hemline and bright autumn colour."

Balenciaga - "This look is the epitome of a modern dress. The simple yet sophisticated construction, the colour-blocking and the perfect length allows you to wear it as a tunic or a dress."

Bottega Veneta - "This black dress seems so simple but the construction is very elaborate, and we loved the unexpected yellow print under the lace."

Carven - "We love how quintessentially French this Carven dress is, being at once both sexy and cute."

Chloe - "True to its Seventies cool-girl roots, this dress is pure Chloe but, in python, is also very relevant to the season."

Erdem - "This dress caught our eye - for maintaining the signature Erdem floral colour palette while employing a more abstract print. The more revealing shape also looks new."

Jil Sander - "We loved this collection for combining Sixties couture shapes in new, more technical fabrics. This cape-back dress captured that mood completely."

Lanvin - "A signature Lanvin shape looks sportier and fresh with the sweater-knit body. It’s perfect for a glamorous yet cosy winter evening."

Phillip Lim - "We saw so many baseball sleeves this season and the beaded ones on this Phillip Lim dress definitely stood out. It’s a clever combination of sporty ease and evening glamour."

Prabal Gurung - "The lace corset-shape appliqué on this chic shift dress brings the perfect amount of sexy irony to a classic shape."

Givenchy Spring ‘12 menswear show in Paris

A Very clear at Riccardo Tisci Spring ‘12 menswear show in Paris at the city’s glass-walled Centre Pompidou:
It drew not only every editor, stylist, photographer, and well-connected friend in town, but also a throng of Parisian passersby, who pressed against the windows for a look. The show itself was spectacular that is to say, a spectacle.
Tisci’s bird-of-paradise print, splashed on tennis skirts and suiting, was one of the week’s strongest statements, complemented by a series of chunky, plasticized sandals that leave no doubt of their maker. (”GIVENCHY” is embossed on the soles walk in them, and you’ll literally leave the label’s calling card in your wake.)

I loved the look, but for everyday wear, I prefer my statements a little quieter. Which is why, when Givenchy’s Spring lookbook hit my desk this week, a pair of sandals (OK, flip-flops) that didn’t make it onto the catwalk caught my eye.
They’re printed with a bit of classic cheesecake, a nudie illustration borrowed from the Fall ‘11 women’s collection.
But when you’re wearing them, she’s covered; nobody’s the wiser. Know and tell, not show and tell, let’s say. Paradise! Hold the birds.
